I am looking for a city . .

Sort of a weird title on a the blog of a country boy like me.  The picture on my header looks more like the kind of place I am comfortable, so why would I say I am looking for a city?  Well, I am thinking of this one:

Heb 11:8-10 ESV
(8) By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
(9) By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.
(10) For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

I think the city is spoken of here:

Rev 21:1-6 ESV
(1) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
(2) And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
(3) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
(4) He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
(5) And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
(6) And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.

I finally finished reading Randy Alcorn’s book Heaven.  Posted about it here.

So picture this:

The present heaven and earth have passed away, and the new Heaven and Earth have been made.  The New Jerusalem comes from Heaven and rests upon Earth.  And  God says from the throne from within the New Jerusalem: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
(4) He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

That’s the place I’m looking for, because it is my Home.
